Enfermedad pulmonar intersticial en la artritis reumatoide. Una revisión bibliográfica actualizada

Resumen


La artritis reumatoide (AR) se la define como una enfermedad progresiva crónica e inflamatoria que afecta especialmente a las articulaciones, pero también puede tener manifestaciones extraarticulares como lo es la enfermedad pulmonar intersticial (EPI). La afectación pulmonar es común, ocurriendo en hasta el 60% de los pacientes con AR, y aumenta significativamente la morbilidad y mortalidad. Este artículo revisa la interrelación entre AR y EPI, abordando su prevalencia, manifestaciones clínicas, patogénesis, implicaciones pronósticas, estrategias diagnósticas y terapéuticas.
