Aportes de la psicoterapia cognitiva conductual enfocada en patrones de pensamiento negativo en adultos mayores
Resumen
La presencia de algunos factores de riesgo como el deterioro cognitivo en la población de adultos mayores promueven la aparición de patrones negativos de pensamiento, que al estar relacionados con la evitación experiencial impiden el bienestar psicológico de esta población, ante esta problemática la Terapia Cognitiva Conductual (TCC) se configura como una opción de tratamiento para reducir la evitación y ayuda a mantener la salud mental del adulto mayor. El objetivo de este estudio fue describir los aportes de la TCC enfocada en patrones de pensamiento negativo en adultos mayores. Se realizó una revisión sistemática descriptiva con método PRISMA, la que se enmarcó en el análisis de contenido, para la selección de artículos se asumieron criterios de calidad metodológica y científica, año de publicación entre 2014 a 2022, quedando 20 artículos seleccionados que son la base de esta publicación. Los resultados obtenidos indicaron que la depresión, tiene que ver con la presencia de los Patrones de Pensamiento Negativos (PPN), que de acuerdo a las variables individuales pueden derivar en demencia en los adultos mayores. Se concluye que la TCC por sus resultados, se muestra altamente eficaz para la disminución de los PPN sobre todo de la esfera de la preocupación en las personas de la tercera edad.
