La persona como el centro del cuidado de Enfermería

Resumen


Objetivo: Describir la evidencia científica relacionada con el enfoque de cuidado de enfermería centrado en la persona en los niveles de atención de salud.

Metodo: Revisión integrativa con método de Whitemore y Knalf, en motor de búsqueda PubMed, con las palabras clave y operadores boleanos “Atención Dirigida al Paciente”, “Patient-Centered Care”, “Enfermeras”, “Nurses” NOT “Doctor” (DECS), en los últimos 5 años.

Resultados: Se encontraron 332 artículos relacionados, de los cuales posterior a lectura crítica se seleccionaron 9 que cumplían con los criterios de inclusión establecidos. Dentro de los principales hallazgos se obtuvieron que el modelo de Atención Centrada en el Paciente es una estrategia facilitadora de la satisfacción del paciente, más aún aquel que padece de enfermedades crónicas o que se encuentra hospitalizado. La escucha activa, el interés sincero por el paciente, así como la integración de sus preferencias, identificación de sus necesidades propias, personalización de su tratamiento, brinda una mejor autoeficacia en su salud como en la autogestión de la misma. Como principales obstáculos para su ejecución se encuentra la deficiente capacitación en el tema, así como aspectos institucionales y laborales que lo dificultan.

Conclusión: La atención centrada en la persona, es un modelo que brinda múltiples beneficios para el paciente de manera integral y holística para su recuperación y mantenimiento de la salud a largo plazo.
