Ácido tranexámico versus oxitocina para el tratamiento y prevención de la hemorragia postparto
Resumen
La Hemorragia Postparto (HPP) constituye una de las principales causas de complicaciones y muerte materna a nivel mundial, la mayor parte de las muertes suceden poco después del parto y aproximadamente el 99% ocurren en países de medios y bajos ingresos, por ello se hace uso de agentes uterotónicos como la oxitocina y/o fármacos antifibrinolíticos como el ácido tranexámico. Objetivo: Comparar el efecto del ácido tranexámico versus oxitocina en el tratamiento y prevención de la hemorragia postparto. Metodología: Se realizó una exhaustiva búsqueda sistemática de bibliografía actualizada, desde diversas bases de datos como PubMed, Scielo, en idioma español e inglés. Resultados: Se revisaron y compararon 11 artículos, enfocándonos en el efecto, eficacia y seguridad de la oxitocina y el ATX, extrayendo también datos como la presentación, vía de administración, duración y vida media. Conclusiones: La oxitocina continua como un componente fundamental en la prevención y tratamiento de la HPP, por su capacidad de reducir la perdida sanguínea, por lo que se la considera como la opción más prometedora, pero el ATX posee la capacidad para disminuir significativamente la perdida sanguínea en la etapa postparto.
